The Community Garden is seen as a place to help improve our community's health and mental well being by providing an enjoyable outdoor physical activity, social contacts and learning opportunities.
The result of people working together is the Light of Christ Community Garden. It is a collective, English style pottage garden that follows the premise of "all for one harvest, one harvest for all" where everyone contributes their efforts to one large garden from which the needful of our community receive the distribution of the harvest. This community garden project is part of the Light of Christ Lutheran Church, LCMS, Care Ministry Program.
Come join us in this special outreach and make a real difference in your community.
This Week's Spotlight on: March of Diapers
With love for the babies! Covering one tush at a time.
The community garden will be one of the drop off locations for the 6th Annual March of Diapers.
Join us by donating diapers & wipes. We are collecting preemie - size 6 & wipes.
No parent should have to choose between purchasing food or diapers for their children. Diapers are not covered by government assistance programs such as SNAP and WIC. This oversight causes potential health risks for infants and many difficulties for parents who can’t afford diapers.
Diapers will be donated to various shelters, food banks, care net, communities in schools and more.
Drop off donations at the garden any Monday or Wednesday between 9-12 during the month of March or bring to church and drop in box in narthex.
